TUITION

All lessons are tailored to individual circumstances.

I operate at a very competitive rate so please get in contact for further details. Based in Liverpool, UK.

Lessons:

Guitar (electric/acoustic, Lead/rhythm)

Songwriting

Music Theory

My teaching style is suited to the student. I like to initially find out where the student is coming from, what their interests and motivations are and build on that. I find songs they are interested in learning and then weave theory and technique into that. I always like to make sure they’re getting what they are interested in and that they feel encouraged.  I teach grades when requested.

I’ve played guitar for 18 years. I’ve been in a variety of bands/duos/solo projects: Covers and Originals. From acoustic blues to 80′s and most things inbetween.

I play electric and acoustic, lead and rhythm. I have played lead guitar with a few original artists as well as performing for their studio recordings. I write/record/gig my own songs (alternative acoustic) and self-released my debut album in December 2010.

I have taught private students since 2002 and I worked at a music school teaching a range of ages and abilities. 1 on 1 lessons from ages 6 to adult. I left this position as i went on tour to Canada and USA playing acoustic guitar for an artist over there.

I have most recently been involved in a project called Girls Into Rock as a mentor with Sense of Sound. Ico-led workshops in songwriting/musicianship/band work. We got the band (14-18yr olds) gig-ready with their own original songs and also ready for the recording of their songs in Parr St Studios. I also mentor for Get Real Academy, LIPA and have experience in leading guitar workshops.

I am CRB checked and a member of Musicians Union and RGT.
